Hey friends! Welcome to my journal. I love having a space where I can share ideas and reflect on my work. Here you'll find collections of my recent sessions, as well as tips and suggestions for styling, session preparation, & more!
While I serve many Bergen County families here in NJ, I often get clients that are not as local to this area. I don’t know about you, but when I go to an unfamiliar place, I like to know my bearings and see what else I can find in the area – especially food! There are plenty of restaurants near some of my favorite photo locations that I’m happy to recommend 🙂
First of all, I love to give clients restaurants that are near Emily Photography, which is right in downtown Wyckoff, NJ. There are many great spots down the road in Boulder Run – the first being Blue Moon Mexican Cafe in Wyckoff. It’s a great spot for adults and families alike! There is also Cafe Amici if you are looking for delicious farm to table food, as well as Willow and Whisk – the perfect brunch location after an early morning shoot! If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine, check out Wyckoff Thai, which is right across the street from the shopping center. This cute little spot is perfect for a cozy dinner out after a photoshoot. All of these restaurants are less than a mile from the studio and are great choices for food! Yummmm….my mouth is watering!
There are a few restaurants near another one of my favorite NJ photoshoot locations – Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve, that I recommend. There is the Market Basket a couple minutes down the road in Franklin Lakes, which is great for take-out options! I’m obsessed with their deli and custom sandwich options! A few minutes the other direction, in North Haledon, there are 3 great spots to eat: Arigato if you are in the mood for sushi, Nadie’s Touch of Pasta for Italian food, and Cinco de Mayo if you are a fan of Mexican! If you have really hungry children and need to get somewhere quick, all of these spots are super close – less than 5 minutes from the nature preserve.
Lastly, there’s Ramapo Reservation in Mahwah, which is my favorite photoshoot location. This area has a handful of restaurants within several miles! If you are looking for something right down the road, there is Harvest & Ale or the Mason Jar. Both eateries are located along Ramapo Valley Road. Harvest & Ale is farm-to-table and a bit more upscale. The Mason Jar is close to Rt. 17 and is a more traditional bar & grill. If you are the mood for delicious pizza, Kinchley’s Tavern is great! This old school tavern is only 10 minutes from the reservation, but it’s cash only – so have your wallet prepared! The final restaurant I recommend for dining out after a session is RP Prime Steakhouse. Whether you are craving a good steak or just looking for a place that is a little more formal, this is a great choice too!
If you are a client who is traveling further for a session with me, just know there are so many restaurants near your shoot locations! I want to make the experience easy for you and if I can recommend a place to eat after, I’d be happy to give you suggestions! I hope some of these spots catch your eye, or taste buds for that matter. 🙂 Reach out if you have any questions about a session or these restaurants near Emily Photography!
