There’s something so dreamy about a maternity session outside, specifically at the Ramapo Reservation in Mahwah, NJ. This location is one of my favorite spots for all types of sessions! Why? Because it has so many different areas to shoot! The natural backdrops at this county park are endless and it allows me and my clients to explore and enjoy the beauty around us. 

A maternity session at Ramapo Reservation is a great option if you also have other children. It’s such a fun place to explore. From overlooking the iconic bridge, to the beautiful mountain and lakeside views, this location is a favorite at Emily Photography. There’s nothing that says you can’t get dressed up in a pretty dress for your maternity shoot and be in the great outdoors!

Fall 2025 Maternity Session at Ramapo Reservation

I recently did a maternity session at the Ramapo Reservation this fall for a soon-to-be family of 4! This shoot was so etherial & dreamy, despite the bit of rain we had just before the session. This family was a pleasure to work with 🙂 Their little boy had so much fun exploring the surrounding area. Together we all walked the trails and created memories of this special time before their family grows by ten more tiny fingers & toes! I love capturing those pure, candid moments between you. Being outdoors definitely brings a sense of calm and relaxation to the shoot. It’s less pressure when you are in an open rather than the constraints of 4 walls around you.
