If you ask me whether you should take your family photos indoors or out, I always say to take them outdoors if you can! Nothing beats the natural sunlight and open air! I’ve photographed families at a variety of local parks, but there’s one location in particular that never disappoints. NJ family sessions at Skylands Manor are IT!

NJ Wedding Venue & Photography Location

Skylands Manor is a beautiful historic estate located in Ringwood, NJ that is often utilized as a wedding venue. It’s a photographer’s haven because it is FULL of beautiful spots to photograph. From the old stone manor to the botanical gardens, everywhere you look there is something that catches your eye. NJ family sessions at Skylands Manor are especially great, because it’s so fun to explore and look at all of the sites on this property. Children especially enjoy looking at the huge manor that resembles a castle, the koi pond behind the estate, and the beautiful botanical gardens with a variety of blooms. 

This past summer, I had the pleasure of capturing a few families at this location. The views certainly did not disappoint, especially at golden hour.  The kids and adults alike took in the beauty around them and enjoyed their time with one another. The candid photos of everyone exploring and sharing genuine glances at one another are my favorite. With a location like this, it’s hard not to enjoy the moment – which makes capturing it with my lens that much easier!
